How to pay at a car wash in Germany

At most German self-service car washes you pay at the machine and buy time: you insert money, the display turns it into washing time, and the clock runs across all programs. Many sites still take only coins or tokens (Wertmarken); card payment is spreading but not yet standard. In Passau, Die Sauberei Waschpark accepts contactless cards, coins, banknotes and tokens.
